One final show before parting ways. One more sweaty adventure surrounded by friends and strangers, singing and stomping and sharing and having the time of our lives. No hay palabras. Photo: Rocío Ballesteros.

May 30. Madrid

In the afternoon, recording begins. We are greatly honoured to spend some time at Red Bull Studio putting together a souvenir of our time together. A short collection of songs by each of us and renditions of traditional tunes. Thanks to Pedro Portellano and Oswaldo Terrones for making us at home.

May 30. Zaragoza-Madrid

Thank you Edu we has a great afternoon busking and night spen sweating-it-up in la Lata de los Bombillas! Off we go on the AVE train to Madrid, home to Sef! Upon entering his house, we find a placed table and a cake to welcome us (Suso te queremos). All this tour is full of love and sugar. Some great photos by Pedro Anguila.

May 29. Zaragoza
We are in Spain! Impossible trying to sleep on the night bus. Fortunately Eduardo Perez from Born! picked us up at the station in the morning and saved us from exhaustion with breakfast and beds, many thanks! That evening we busk in the center of Zaragoza in front of Fnac to promote our show that night at La Lata de Bombillas. Photo: Pedro Anguila.

May 28. Montpellier

We awake to a sunny apartment. Lauren and Chihiro prepare an epic breakfast with home-made cheese, fresh salad and exquisite croissants. Later in the day we decide to busk and promote the show near the old Opera house. An exciting show at The Black Sheep ensues that night, where we lure the upstairs customers down to the concert with some good old hollering and clapping.

After the show we speed away! Chihiro leads us to the flowered tram that will take us to Zaragoza through the night…

May 27. Montpellier
After our last show in the UK, upon arriving to Montpellier Lauren Rodz took us to an underground cave in the city where we were hypnotised by Florent Collanti’s music and made a surprise preview of our show the following day. First take on the Bahamian tune Ain’t got long. Our tired voices fit perfectly.

May 26. Bristol

An amazing venue awaited in lovely Bristol, also known as Vegan City. The Cube Cinema is an old theater with red seats and a beautiful garden to rehearse our tunes. Thanks from the beards to Barry for the beds!

Our first day off is spent catching up with e-mail and basking under the trees in Highbury Park. Here we are playing with an old Mammoth skull that was just lying around.

May 24. Birmingham
We arrive to automobile-loving Moseley. Before the show, Dorian and Sef busk in the square to promote the night’s show at The Bull’s Head (opening is Pete_Prescription AKA Dorian Wood UK!). Everyone is driving a car so it’s quite a challenge, but we are approached by friendly meth-heads who ask us for money and gangsta kids who ask for a beat.
Sef: What a cool teardrop tattoo… Maybe I should get one.
Dorian: Do you know what that means?
Sef: Um… no.
Dorian: It means you killed someone.
Sef: I should definitely get one!
Nathaniel leaves us for one gig, he is flying to Ukraine for a live performance of HOPE, his collaboration with artist Lara Baladi in the Kiev Biennale. A heart-breaking symphony with donkey cries, a string ensemble and soprano voices. We miss him but can’t wait to hear it.

May 23. Coventry

A piano! The sweetest surprise at Taylor John’s House in Coventry. We adapt our set around this discovery and incorporate some of Dorian’s piano tunes,a toy piano VS acoustic piano version of Sef’s Danger in Promises and a cover of Rufus Wainwright’s In My Arms. We’re still trying to make every concert different and make the most of this experiment, which is proving to be an amazing experience for the three of us. Joy!

Arran Poole and Mark Summers opened with beautiful haunting music and joined us at the end of the show for a version of Dorian’s Kletka ot Sniag (video here). Photos and love by Andi James Chamberlain.
